Barb Fletcher

Barb Fletcher has called Brisbane home since 1970. A keen observer of the natural environment, she enjoys painting and drawing her local surroundings, with Moreton Island, Cooloola National park and the Tinchi Tamba wetlands providing favourite subjects.

With a long career as a scientist, Barb enjoys that her interest in art allows her to view the power of nature from another vantage point.

Barb was introduced to watercolour two years ago, after working in pastels for many years. She has recently attended workshops with Australian artist John Lovett and renowned English watercolourist Jean Haines, as well as popular local watercolour artists Cees Sliedrecht and Maria Fields.

A keen supporter of local art festivals, Barb has most recently exhibited at the Blue Water Festival (Shorncliffe), the RNA and the inaugural Nundah Neighbourhood Centre Art Show.
