Dianne Taylor has been learning watercolour painting since her retirement in late 2009. Di initially commenced classes at the Brisbane Institute of Art completing three semesters with Allin Dwyer. She has also completed three courses with Kevin Smith through his “Introduction to Watercolour” which is conducted by the Watercolour Society of Queensland. Through the Society Di also has attended workshops with the well-known Australian watercolourists Herman Pekel, Raelean Hall, Ruby Eaves and Ross Paterson.

In her second year of painting Di won a number of prizes. She won Second Prize in the watercolour section of the Brookfield Show for “Still Life – Pears” and First Prize and Third Prize at the Samford Show for “Still Life – Granny Smith’s Apples” and “Snow Gums”.

Di likes painting still life but as she is still new to watercolour painting she paints a wide range of subjects to practise and master the range of techniques which is unique to watercolour painting.

Di is Past President of the Watercolour Society and is the Society's Exhibition Convenor.
