Samaneh Mohtadi

Samaneh Mohtadi found her artistic talent since her childhood when she won the first prize for charcoal drawing in a provincial competition in her homeland. Later, she continued drawing and painting with coloured pencils as a hobby in parallel with her university studies as an IT professional. From about 2005, she focused more on watercolour painting. She discovered the power of watercolour in illustrating the beauty of light and the colours that are laid within the scenic views of nature, historic places, and people as they are seen through her eyes.

She has been tutored by renowned Iranian teachers Djamal Khorraminejad and Siavash Mazloumipoor. Attending their workshops and classes. She has been appreciated by her teachers for her talent, enthusiasm, and capabilities in watercolour painting as well as conducting training courses. Her painting subjects include but are not limited to landscape, portraiture and figure painting. Her works have been selected for presentation in the 3rd annual Khorraminejad’s art institute.

Since she moved to Australia in May 2016, she has continued painting and is continually inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Australia. She has been actively participating in following Australian watercolour exhibitions:

  • Lions Art Extravaganza at Garden City, 2016

  • Annual exhibition of Queensland watercolour society at Mt Coot-tha Auditorium,  2016

  • Group watercolour exhibition with the name “Nev & Barbara Logan and Persian Trio” at Richard Randall Art Studio, 2016
